Porphyry Earrings

These earrings are cut from a spectacular porphyry, which hails from ancient greenstone belts along accreted terranes. The material was once seafloor basalt in the Paleozoic and comes from the Wallowa terrane.
The stones are 28mm wide and hang 38mm total on hammered 14k gold-fill wire. The earrings weigh 3 grams each.
